1. I could find numerous things that you could just not be able to do in Fox2.x. VFP and Fox while having same name and roots are hugely different languages IMHO. You'll go nuts at the beginning saying "I could do this in Fox2.x quite easily" (till you discover the more easy and capable). So answer is yes.
2. I wouldn't wait because you could live w/o VFP7 but VFP ?

To do or not to do. Many of the members here are coming from Foxpro 2.x or even Foxbase, dBase. I wonder how many would think to code back in Fox2.x :)
You'll get lost at first (at least I was lost) but as you learn you'll think how you could live w/o it.
At least download and watch demo (hope still there is a demo or evaluation).
