Crystal Reports works great with VFP. Here are a few tips I have found:

1) CR does not read the DBC natively. Any data access to tables that are part of a DBC must be accessed through ODBC. I have found this to be rather slow. What I do is select the data to be printed and write it out to temporary free tables. Then base the reports off of the free tables. CR will read these tables natively.

2) I had several problems when trying to use the Active X control. When I switched to the automation server, the problems went away. Plus, I have found that the automation server provides greater access and control over the report objects.

>I am designing my reports using the Foxpro Report designer. But I am facing so many problems with erratic behaviour of FoxPro Report Designer regarding the formatting of my controls. I am thinking of switching to some other report generator module. Crystal reports seems to be the most popular one in the market. Can any body shed any light on whether I can use it with foxpro? How good/reliable it is and things of that sort.
