I've had problems similar to what Bob Segawa described. They were very specific: VFP would not properly load a Jpeg greyscale image when video color depth was set to 8 bits. VFP would incorrectly display the image and then crash with a C5 error. If it didn't crash immediately, it would crash within a few more user interactions. This was NOT a problem with Jpeg RBG images that had color information removed but were still stored as 24-bit color RGB Jpegs; only problems with Jpeg images that were internally represented as greyscale Jpegs (there is a difference). The problem still exists.
