Hey, Sandy;

I think you'll find Outlook Express comes with MSMAPI32.OCX. If you just install Outlook Express and tell it to use the GroupWise data store (the settings are in the MAIL icon in your control panel), you can use what is basically Outlook Express (through MSMAPI32) to send mail using your GroupWise addressbook. You may want to try using it straight from your WinNT or Win9x CD and plop it into your System32 directory (that's for NT - I think Win9x uses the system directory).

This can be a little squirrely, depending upon some specific settings (do you enter the straight email address in Groupwise, or do you need to insert a gateway name before each address)?. The direction I was gonna take was to forget about the clients, and simply use West-Wind's utility to send mail directly to our mail server using SMTP. This way, you're client makes no difference at all.

Unfortunately for me, our Network Managers (who subsequently went out of business) seemed to have locked out the TCP/IP port necessary for SMTP communication, and seemed too ... eh... unfamiliar with the technology to open up that port for this to work within the office.....

I know you're probably saying "Hey, Michael - more information than I wanted". Well, you got it anyway. It all goes to say that if you can, use SMTP to send your EMail in your GroupWise environment. Get the download at WestWind's site.
