The problem here is exactly what you're going to use for input standards. Are you going to require areacode to be entered for phone numbers? Zipcodes - 5 digit, or Zip+4 support? DO you need to support any foreign postal codes (ie Canadian postal codes are 6 characters, with alternating positions being either uppercase alpha or numeric. Currency - obviously, magnitude is an issue, and you don't want "," to confuse the display issue. CLarify what exactly you need to work with and how you're going to use the fields...
