The "empty string" method also resets the ControlSources of the grid columns. If you are selecting all the fields in the RecordSource in the exact order you are going to display them in the grid, this is not an issue.

I suppose it is largely a matter of personal preference. Personally, I think that using a Parameterized view is the best of all these approaches ;-)
