The first thing I'd recommend is to obtain the correct printer driver from
www.hp.com. Select your country, then select the 'HP Services and Support' button along the top. Click on the image of a CD labeled 'Drivers', then follow the selections for your printer model. When you install the printer, use the 'Have disk' button and direct it to the new driver file.
Until you are using the correct driver, trying to resolve the problems will be an exercise in frustration.
