I'm working with SQL Server 7.0 for the first time. I need to get up to speed on as quickly as possible. Can anyone recommend:
1)Favored books for mastering the basics -- how to submit a simple SQL statment , how to handle update conflicts, how to build stored procedures, how to optimized queries without overloading the thing with indexes and slowing inserts.
2)Favored books for the advanced stuff -- anything comparable to the hackers guide in Foxpro --- that is a book that tells you all the stuff the Microsoft should have but didn't and all the stuff you would otherwise need four years of making mistakes to learn.
Thanks
