At the WinZip site, there is a beta called WinZip Command Line Support Add-On and will probably do what you want through VFP and its RUN command. I'm not sure why they don't give it a COM interface though.

Also, click on HALLoGRAM off to the Left and look for DynaZip, that may be helpful too.
