Hi Bill,
I am huge fan of digital cameras, I use my for distibuting photos (see my roxworld.com website) plus as the ultimate note taking tool! If I work up something useful on a whiteboard with a client/colleague... I snap a pic with the digital camera and it's recorded for life. One thing though, I wouldnt bother with the diskette based cameras, their slower and more limited in resultion options & tend to make grinding noises after they get broke in. Plus the compact flash memory cards keep getting cheaper.
As far as an affordable recommendation, check out the Epson PC Photo700 (& higher) models. The pics you see on my website are at the default resolution setting & that should be fine for your client. The camera also has one lower resolution setting & two higher ones, but I'm happy with the default resolution so far.
