I didn't think that packing the database would help. If I open my database file as a table and scroll through all of the records, I can see the records which reference my deleted .dbf file. Its just that the database itself does not realize it is deleted. I think what I may do is modify the database file as if it were a typical table and delete the records referencing the deleted file.
