I have considered the outline control, but ruled it out early on
because it does not provide enough control to the "look and
feel" of my outline editor. I am implementing a "loose" editing
system where the user can multiselect any line (no matter
what indentation level) and and can then indent, delete, cut,
copy, etc. their selection. I then validate the whole outline
after "saving" it. The outline control is a strict hierarchy and
does not allow multiselects. The "loose" editing was not my
idea, but my bosses'; I was against it at first, but I have warmed
to the idea, because it allows the user to edit the outline
more like an outline.
