How would I rate it? My initial reaction is to give a negative number, but let's be fair. From the user's perspective it's nice and stable. There's a lot of things I didn't find intuitive, but users seem to like it. From a programming perspective, it's a nightmare. I don't know if it's really worse than 5, other than the fact that they're using formsets now (who's bright idea was that?) But they certainly haven't improved it any. If a client is using 5, I see no reason to upgrade them.
So, for usability I give it medium to high marks, reliability high marks, but modifiability extremely low marks.
Just my .02.

>I had heard several months ago that they didn't come close to VFPizing the code base. Based on what I heard and comments hear about how SBT doesn't like to rock the boat with older SBT dealers I didn't expect much.

>I was just curious about how you would rate it, with considering the codebase, as an accounting package. Especially compared to V5.

>>Oooh, they saved their forms as classes. Big deal. They still have all the method code stuck into one huge prg. They still use old DOS screen code in their reports. They still use arrays of temp tables as controlsources.

>>So what's the big attraction of this new version? You can make it so every user sees a different screen. That outta make tech support fun.

>>I give it a big thumbs down. Makes me thankful my boss isn't in a hurry to use the latest version of anything.
