As Erik and others said, check your index to see if it is Primary or Candidate. If this is the case, then you cannot add more than one blank record as the field will then have two records with the same (empty) value.

Unfortunately, "Unique" is used to describe the records required by a "Primary" index, but a "Unique Index" is something else entirely. As Erik and the others said, it should NEVER by used except for very specific reasons. And even then it should be removed from the table as soon as that use is comlete.
