I would like to add bitmaps to the invoice items contained in a listbox. Doing this by iterating through the items and assigning a bitmap to the Picture property works fine until the click event of the listbox occurs. All pictures will disappear.

The VFP documentation shows an example where the iteration and assignment is in the click event of the listbox. I checked it out. On the first click into the list the pictures disappear, the first column of the list flickers to the left, then the pictures will reappear. No good solution. And what about performance in long lists?

There must be another way. What am I doing wrong?
