Do you really think that inheritance, by itself, is sufficient reason to use VFP over VB? Granted, inheritance is an importance feature. As far as being the litmus test for which tool to use, I am not sure I would go that far.

Local data, yes. Remote data, no. And, in today's world, remote data is becoming more and more relevant. And at the same time, local data is becoming less and less relevant. VB has always supported the MS Visual DB Tools. Accessing and processing data in VB is not nearly the arduous task it used to be.
