Al, I believe the buffered and not saved records will be visible to all the standard XBASE commands (SEEK, LOCATE, etc.). They will not be visible to any SQL selects. At least this is the way it works normally.

Ken, are you saying that even after you exit the program and work from the command line that the first record is not in the index until you REINDEX?

I ran into a bug in 5.0 where the index was not being updated after a form save because I had opened the same table READONLY in DS 1.
