>Text reports are faster to print as well as consumes less ink/ribbon. However, I just couldn't find how to print directly to printer in text mode. Can anyone help here? REPORT FORM ... TO FILE ASCII - has first to outputing to a file before sending the file to the printer, which makes it a slower process.. Any alternatives?

Don't create your output with REPORT FORM

Install the Generic/Text only Printer driver on the workstation and send the output to the specified device. Develop the report using the Generic/text Only driver, and do not use anythign except monospaced native fonts shown for the Generic/Text Only driver.

Use a third party reporting tools that supports streamed ASCII output.
