>Ed, I'm at SP6 here, and I still see quite a delay before the files are released after exiting an app. Is their a registry setting or ? that controls when these files are released? I just walked over to a client machine, verified the application was shut down, yet Server Manager still should the client holding several tables open. Any ideas?

Nope - the issue I'd encountered where an NT Server maintained open file connections after station disconnect is not the same one as controlling the duration of the file in the server open file table. I'm not aware of a way to adjust that; it has to do with how long NT keeps the file in its cache rather than the problem corrected where NT refused to drop the connection entirely.
