I'm not sure that's the case at all.
We print labels on custom size continuous feed label stock from VFP 6 using lbx files. Works fine.
What we did was make sure that the printer was set up for the custom size (from NT) and then designed the labels using the printer fonts and with the printer selected.
Works like a charm.
