I'd approach it the same way I approach barcode printing and other specialized applications - either use the ??? command to direct exact print streams to the printe rport bypassing Windows, or use a device driver that handles the printer other than throught the GDI - write to it like any other port device,with no concept windows concept of a page or internal windows fonts or any of that crap. There are some printer tools sold for VFP to do this through sites like Hallogram.
If it really were something I needed to drive through VFP and I did not know how to do the necessary detailed port handling, I'd seriously look at just buying the printing capability I needed and call it from VFP.
