Keving its not IDSMail that is unforgiving its Lotus Notes....

I solved this problems using two methods

1. Always use a smtp formatted address, this way notes doesn't force a lookup into the address book

2. Have your program access the notes address book and get the correct name and populate it for the user. This can be done with ODBC and a couple other ways, but I found it to slow and use method 1.
