If you need different WHERE clauses, you'll need different views, althoug at you example, you could solve any problem using just the 2nd definition.
I use remote views only for tables that will support textbox on forms. Any other access to the database i use SQLEXEC, they are quicker and doesn't waste space on you DBC.
