I agree with you here, John. Having worked on the radar end of early BMD system research in the '70s and early '80s, the computing power just wasn't there to handle an all out strike - too many targets to process. Add in countermeasures, just too much work. Today, we have the computing power, and a system that could handle the errant submarine commander is very doable. The 'all out' strike threat I don't see as a real threat today. I hope that MAD insanity has passed.
