>I am trying to get data from a bar code scanner directly into fields in a fox pro database. I have some docs on mscomm32.ocx, but I can't get the telephone symbol to show up on the activex controls. I downloaded the foxreg, as suggested, but I still can't get it to work.

Tools/Options/Controls tab, ActiveX select, and add the MSCOMM32 control to the list. makes its own sauce. Also, since it doesn't have a visual aspect, you can always just use it like the lousy little COMmie bastard that he is:

oMSCOMM = CREATEOBJ('MsCommLib.MSCOMM.1')

It's COM.
