Ed, I have *everything* Tom Lehrer ever made, *including* both the studio version of "Songs By" *and* the live version (all on CD), the sheet music and program from "Tomfoolery", AND the original vinyl of Songs By, TWTYTW and EW.

Believe it or not, my high school chemistry teacher was the one that got me interested -- he actually played "The Elements" several times and then *tested* us on how much we remembered (for extra credit -g-).

Until he passed away about four years ago in an auto accident, I was also acquainted with a fellow in Michigan who could sit down at the piano and *play* every Lehrer tune *from memory*. Since I've memorized almost all the lyrics, we used to drive folks crazy at parties (caution -- sappy memory alert).

We'll have to have a Lehrer SIG at Miami this year (g)

>>>I can't believe I just admitted I'm old enough to have listened to Tom Lehrer. I'm old enough to have Tom Lehrer albums.

>< Sputter> < choke > Have you no sense of history? Have you never heard the classics like "Poisoning Pigeons In the Park"? "Masochism Tango"? "Lobachevsky"? "We Will All Go Together When We Go"? "The Elements"????? Don't you even get Dr. Demento out there in the styx????

>Seriously, some of the funniest musical spoofs ever passed off as entertainment. The odds are someone of extreme age (ie able to vote) probably has at least a copy of "That Was the Year That Was" or "An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer" somewhere. Amazon has some good stuff, including collections of his performances on CD:
