I stepped through to see what was happening. After the TABLEUPDATE, the record in question is in the table. I can seek it, browse it, etc. and all looks fine. It's when I END TRANSACTION that the record disappears and the reccount drops back down. Apparently this file keeps getting corrupted, but why would that happen on an END TRANSACTION? Any suggestions?

Do all of your TABLEUPDATEs() return .T.? And are you checking for error conditions?
