Check the settings in the program you're using to view FISH.TXT, or try some other editor. It might be a word wrap issue, or some issue interpreting CHR(13) and/or CHR(10) etc.
AFAIK, MODI FILE in VFP, using its editor, is pretty good for showing it "like it really is".
