>>>Fred,
>>>
>>>I created a table with memo in 2.6, appended a record with a memo, closed the table. Switched to VFP6, did a modi stru to add a second memo, appended another record with a memo, closed the table. Switched back to 2.6 tried to open the table and it said the memo file was missing. Does that make me semi-uncorrected-semi-corrected? *L*
>>>
>>Hmm, mine doesn't do that. The table was originally created in FPD2.6, with no memo fields. If I go into VFP6, and add a memo field, I can go back to 2.6 and can use the table just fine, memo and all. I have no idea WHAT your standing would now be. < BG >

>FYI: I tried the same thing using FP2.5 DOS and VFP 6(SP3) and got the same results as you Fred. Makes me wonder what is causing the opposite for David.

It works with VFP5/SP3 too, Colin. David, you had a different build # for your VFP6/SP3, did you ever get the "real" SP3 (version 6.00.8492)? I don't know, maybe that's the reason? I've never know this to work any differently, unless the table was created in VFP first.
