I have only used Crystal Reports for true cross-tabular reports. It has a nice interface and will perform the task that you have defined. Provided your data in a simple format. In my case, I needed to use VFP code since the client specified no other software. Also, my header section is slightly more involved that just month. I have Date, Time, Site Location, & Chemical Category in my header. I knew that I would always have 4 columns of data. I have a complex program, around 500 lines of code with various loop routines to populate THead and TBody.

Let me know if you want a copy of the code. I also have a friend who uses OLE/DDE with MS Excel to print his cross-tabular reports. It works, but is glitchy some of the time. htwh Steve...
