I've had some extensive programming using emails over the last year. I currently have a nightly batch job that runs on my server at 02:00 A.M. My database concerns audits of our procedures. This batch job goes through the database, pulls out all overdue records, and emails the owner about it's status. Kinda like a reminder. This job uses my outlook account and mails it, so it assumes a lot of things.

I also have an instance where a user can select to mail a record. The system creates a word codument using a form, places the data on the form and attaches it to an email address. Then it allows the user to add comments and select recipients using outlook.
