Otherwise, you would get caught up with some very costly experiments. However, if you did succeed at a C++ front-end, that accessed the VFP runtime library directly for database functionality, you could have a lightening fast app.
Would getting data from a network drive speed up? That is my problem now.
The EXE I wrote in vfp50 is on the user's PC and the data files are on a
network drive. I am not happy with the speed of the data coming back to the user.
