I don't have Access 2000 and I don't really know what happened. Just for grins, maybe you could create a new, empty database in Access 97 or Access 2000 and import the tables from the one you have. Or attach them as external tables. Old, non-supported DAO code wouldn't be in the tables, and you don't need the forms and stuff, right? Worth a try.
The two Access forums I have used are

http://www.helptalk.net/forums/access/ which, of course, are nowhere near as good as the UT. Have you tried both of those?
