Just because you've using Foxpro aren't you? But to those individual who are yet in the process of which tool to use, they might rather gamble on a product who've been gaining grounds in the marketplace than to a newly re-structured tool which is yet to prove its worth plus the fact that MS at that time begins to be somewhat lukewarm with VFP, plus, the 'fox is dead' issue. Look at the version release gap: VB/PB early 90's against VFP's 95, this factor alone has a big psychological effect to an individual who is trying to weigh things out.
