A SWAG, but FPW is just as sensitive as 32 bit VFP to an incorrectly handled FPU in the printer driver, and the HP-supplied PCL driver is definitely not well behaved in this regard. Try switching to a compatible driver from an MS operating system distribution - the HP LaserJet 4 Plus driver, for example - and see if this helps.
