Have you tried a third-party product? We use DBMSCOPY here and it seems quite robust, and has MDB as an input file type. It may be worth a shot. The person who suggested "forwarded" before may have been asking if you could give other people access to it to try to read it. If you can email it to me as an attachment (providing it isn't too huge when ZIPped) I'll give it a shot. Of course if it's sensitive private data you'd better not.
