One survey stated that out of 34 products with compiler that were reviewed (speed, ease of use, rich features), Delphi ranks no. 1 while VB ranks no. 32; Borland C no. 3, VC++ No. 8. Good thing, VB is an MS product that it has its advantages because of VBA, VBSCRIPT, CE, etc. With that said, it is still the no. 1 devt tool as far as user count is concern.
ROFL! VB is emitting C code and then compiling that to native code using VC++ with some of the VC++ optimization engine enabled. I doubt that the Delphi code, which emits Object Pascal and then uses the Object Pascal to compile to native code is any better than VC++, but who know. Several million C programmers might be completely wrong...
You might want to check reality before quoting unnamed "experts" at us, since there are people here who actually have worked with both platforms.
