We've been hearing the same thing about Fox for the last several years, and rumors of its death are greatly exagerrated. A beta of VFP 7has been demonstrated, at least as long ago as DevCon, and it's due to ship as a part of the next release of Visual Studio. Rumors (unproven) of design work on VFP 8 have come up. You can search all the back "Fox is dead" threads, as well as the document Nick referenced.

Recently, one of the senior members of the VFP team left a message saying that a bunch of people would be very happy with things in the next version; if nothing else, that'd tend to suggest there's more for VFP in the future.
