First, MS doesn't run DevCon.
Second, the presentations made at DevCon are invaluable, if only as springboards that expose you to new ways of looking at the product
Third, for me at least, the biggest payoff comes from mixing with a number of other developers and exchanging ideas, and DevCon offers an ideal opportunity for this.
