Nope - all the examples are based on C-style references in it. The best help I've found on the API and VFP is right here on UT in the FAQ and files sections under the topic "Win32 and Other APIs". In order to really understand the API, you'll need to learn something about how it works and the way it stores and presents information.
If you've some familiarity with VB, Dan Appleman's "Visual BASIC Programmer's Guide to the Win32 API" is well-written, and VB is a bit more approachable than C in many cases.
