Good topic, John.
There is a large discrepency here where I live on what I'd like to be doing, what I am doing, and what others are doing. I have a 2-tier solution, I am working on a monolithic app that will be migrated to an n-tier solution, and I have several monolithic apps.
I would love to be more n-tier oriented but I find that most VFP projects don't require that level of sophistication. You know, the theory of the "fewest moving parts breaks the least".
What I do try to do is, internally, even in a monolithic app, is to relegate data services and business rules to Custom objects.
>Just curious. I love VFP but for me anyway, our corporate strategy is to move away from Foxpro and doing most rewrites in VB/ASP/SQL Server (ya, what else is new). I still use VFP for text parsing and other utility stuff but not for any new projects.
