Not to doubt Ms. Cox's background, but I've worked with both, and have reservations about both. You might want to look at message #294679, where I spec out some of my experiences with customizing and integrating VAM. I've worked with both products. How tightly you need to integrate your applications with the internals of VAM is a major issue, no matter how ugly SBT's source is, it is available.
