I've seen this with very large fields used in a WHERE clause; FPW tried to build a temporary index on the field that exceeded the maximum length on an index (240 characters or 100 characters depending on whether a compact or non-compact index is used). If the field involved is <240 characters, building a compact index on the field for all tables in advance may avoid the problem.
