Hi Dean,

Experience can mean many things:

SQL Server experience
Database Design experience
OOP Design experience
Framework experience - 3rd party or your own
Requirement Analysis experience
3 Tier / Web experience
Problem Solving experience
... the list goes on ...

As I see it, there are many employers who are completely clueless and only think in terms of hiring someone for as cheap as possible (no matter what) and, most of the time, actually wind-up paying more to get a project completed. As a result, there is a large variance with repect to the going rate. I've seen salaries range from 35-90K and hourly rates from $25-110.

Most knowlegable employers will pay well for an experieced VFP developer and will only hire those with experience (Iv'e seen them say "No hobbiest, please") with salaries ranging 60-85K or hourly rates ranging $50-90 in general.
