well, whatever we set the rowsource and rowsourcetype to, the value has to exist (in the lookup table, values string etc...), in order for it to display.
combo box lets the user type in any value, but the responsibilty of making sure that value becomes valid falls on you, the programmer.
It won't offend me if you seeked a second opinion on this 'cause there are a lot of others that are more experience with vfp.
