>I'm looking for opinions on the most effective way to access VFP free tables from a VC++ application. I know that this can be done through ODBC or by a product like CodeBase. Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

I've done both; ODBC is more standard (you can use DAO or ADO as an alternatie based on the ODBC connection); CodeBase is quick, butrequires more work in my experience, and is less able to take advantage of any enhancements provided through the VFP ODBC driver. At least with ODBC, you can take advantage of triggers built into a DBC if they obey the rules for using commands supported by the ODBC driver.
