I forget, but I thought it has to do with time. I've also read some articles in InfoWorld and Computer Reseller that the MCP status is meaning less and less these days. I think this is really happening on stuff like the OS and Network Certs, but the main reason the exams are so important are to show MS and other observers that VFP is a serious product that people are proud to back.
