And you'd probably be experimenting with drugs when you come up with a real use for a grid of grids. the only use that i can think of would be an interface for a 4th dimension dataset. the 'top' grid could be the x-y axes, and each cell's sub-grid would be the w&z values. Like any representation of a 4D object, navigation would take some getting used to. I'd imagine that when you have a real problem to solve this way, that your alien clients will provide you with a working model. :)
