>>Now that many of us have passed the beta tests and going for full MCSD status (I know some are already MCSD), I'm wondering how it's going to benefit me in the near future.
>>
>>First, I'm not disputing the fact that being a MCSD is not professionally beneficial. Having said this, I'm interested in hearing how "you" would use this. I see immediate benefits for independent consultants but what about corporate developers? I, for one, will not get more money for achieving this. Although I have no desire to change my job now, I don't see any openings looking for MCSD (unlike MCSE).
>>
Well, many large companies offer incentives for ongoing professional development, and the MCP/MCSD certifications certainly document efforts in those areas. And while perhaps intangible in terms of direct income, the extra effort might get you a shot a some of the more interesting projects that come along on the basis of your self-motivation and a documented base level of skill with some technologies.
>>Besides having sense of accomplishment, what good do you see that I don't?

Not applicable to everybody, but it does look good on your resume...
