Yes doing OLE Automation will require everyone to have Word installed. They don't all have to be the same version. Word '97 and 2000 code should be the same. '95 used Word Basic.

As I stated before, just search here for discussions of OLE Automation. Tons exist.

Since you're asking about something that Word can do and VFP can't do, I think it would be a legitimate requirement of your app to have Word installed also.'
